This procedure allows us to determine the condition of the corneal endothelial cells which is essential in the planning of the surgical procedures of the anterior optical segment. The procedure also serves as a useful device to ophthalmologists in the study of diseases affecting the transparency of the cornea.
With the Tomey EM 300 Specular Microscopy photography and evaluation of the corneal endothelium is made easy, through a touch alignment function. Fifteen shots can be taken in a series; photograph shooting errors are reduced to a minimum; and the best image amongst the fifteen shots is automatically selected and displayed on the screen. Furthermore, the cornea thickness is also measured at the same time.
